The Advanced Technology Academy (ATA) is a charter school located in the metropolitan Detroit area. In the Fall of 2004, the school fully integrated the Ford Partnership for Advanced Studies (Ford PAS) program into its high school curriculum. Ford PAS was conceived by Ford Motor Company Fund as part of its efforts to encourage high school students to pursue their education – and build successful careers – in business, engineering, technology, and other career pathways.
The ATA curriculum integrates academically rigorous, standards-based content with realistic applications in areas such as: design and product development, information systems, environmental sustainability, global economics, business planning, personal finance, and marketing.
Property Description:
The first unit of the current ATA campus opened in 1922 and the school was completed in 1926. There have been many changes made to the building over the years. The last major renovation was in 2009. Advanced Technology Academy first occupied the building in 2002, and expanded operations to K-8. Currently, the Academy has 129,847 square feet of floor area with two stories. There are approximately 1156 students in grades pre-K to 12, with 53 teachers. Although ATA is located in Dearborn, students come from the entire Detroit metropolitan area.
