Sustainability Summary:

Bartlett Elementary School:

  • has a recycling program
  • uses T-8 or CFL light fixtures extensively
  • uses native landscaping.

At Bartlett Elementary School, students in grades K-5 meet monthly as a community of learners, to celebrate accomplishments, build character, and increase self-esteem. Each class carries a banner that they have made, and hangs it in a special spot. Teachers and students perform skits dealing with such topics as, respect for others, anti-bullying, and recycling.

We are proud of South Lyon Community Schools recycling programs: newspapers, office paper, aluminum cans, and plastic bottles.  Students are taught why we need to recycle and they play active roles in gathering all of the above recyclable materials. It has made a big impact and difference in the school environment.
