Sustainability Summary:

Iron Mountain High School:

has a recycling program

uses T-8 or CFL lighting extensively.

We have a strong recycling program, currently including paper products and ink cartridges. Our Science classes also include many lessons on renewable resources and emphasize how our actions affect our environment. One of our classes made a presentation to our school board after completing an energy audit. The students made suggestions to our school board on how to reduce energy use. Many of the suggestions were valid and have been implemented. For example, motion sensors have been installed in some of our rest rooms to turn off lights when not in use.
