New climate-based benchmarking for local government

Monday, September 01, 2008

Planet Footprint has released its new climate-based benchmarking to local government program clients. Client Councils currently receive reports that compare and benchmark their energy and greenhouse performance against other Planet Footprint Councils in their region, and across Australia. This new release will add a third benchmarking tier, where Councils will also be benchmarked against other Councils that share the same climate characteristics. Categorisation of Councils according to climate is based on the climate classification developed by the Australian Building Codes Board (ABCB) and adopted in the Building Code of Australia (BCA).

As with all Planet Footprint benchmarking, comparisons are done according to the best, median and mean of a comparison group, with the anonymity of group members maintained.
