Planet Footprint speaker at EcoTuesday in Ann Arbor MI

Saturday, March 13, 2010

Dean’s EcoTuesday talk is a short excursion through the maze of environmental measurement.  Whether we work on public, private or non-profit projects we're told: "you can't manage what you can't measure".  But is measurement and reporting in your environmental work becoming an end in itself, distracting you and your organization from actually achieving results?  Dean will share some valuable yet humorous lessons to help avoid getting stuck in the measurement maze, drawing from topics ranging from climate science to Chinese medicine and locations from Honolulu to Cootamundra.

Dean Jackson heads the US division of Planet Footprint, which provides it's Energy and Environmental Scorekeeping Service to 180 organizations in Australia and the USA.  Dean moved to Ann Arbor with his family from Australia in Dec 2009, cheating them out of a beachside summer.
